Stable Management

In addition to quality instruction for riders, Brown Ledge offers a solidly based course in Stable Management. It is our belief that riders of all levels should have the opportunity to learn all aspects of caring for and handling horses – not just the actual riding portion.

From the beginner level, Brown Ledge girls learn how to groom, tack, feed and water the horses. Intermediate and vanguard training includes lectures on confirmation, recognition of diseases, basic cures and when to call the vet, how and when to use various kinds of tack, the differences involved in conditioning for shows and events – in short, all the things a good rider needs to know.
